Management Computer Services, Inc. (MCS) is now offering PHA-Web; Internet based software for housing authorities. The Section 8 Inspection Manager is a component of PHA-Web that assists the housing authority in performing Section 8 unit inspections.

The Section 8 Inspection Manager produces a list of units to be inspected based on the units’ last inspection dates. Inspections may be scheduled according to user-defined criteria. The scheduled unit inspection information may be generated, using the HUD-52580 form, in hard copy and / or transferred to a portable inspection device.

The Section 8 Inspection Manager utilizes the Tablet PC, which takes advantage of the latest technology in portable devices. The Tablet PC is capable of working as both a handheld device and a workstation. Scheduled inspection data and corresponding maps and directions to the unit to be inspected may be viewed on the Tablet PC. Inspection results may be entered directly into the Tablet PC as the examination of the unit is performed. This data can then be uploaded to PHA-Web.

Custom letters for inspection notifications, results and other correspondence to tenants and landlords are provided through the Letter Manager component of PHA-Web.

Clients utilizing Visual MCS have the ability to integrate the Section 8 Inspection Manager with their existing software.
